Student Veterans of America (SVA) has partnered with Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) to offer two $10,000 Patriot Scholarships for U.S. Army veterans.
These scholarships aim to support veterans who demonstrate a strong commitment to their academic pursuits and leadership in their communities. The scholarships are named after RMD's Patriot Air and Missile Defense System and are designed to help veterans who are passionate about education and giving back.
Eligibility Criteria
Army student veterans pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited four-year college or university for the 2024/2025 academic year are eligible to apply if they meet the following requirements:
Be a U.S. Army veteran.
Be entering their sophomore, junior, or senior year of undergraduate study or enrolled in a graduate program.
Attend school full-time at an accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
Show a strong passion for their field of study.
Demonstrate leadership and engagement in their community.
Be a current student veteran (this includes members of the National Guard or Reserve), as proven by a DD 214 (Member – Copy 4) and an up-to-date transcript (either official or unofficial).
Have an honorable discharge and maintain good standing as a veteran.
How to Apply
Applicants must submit the following:
DD-214 (Member-4 copy)
Transcripts (official or unofficial showing full-time enrollment)
A 1-2 minute video answering the following questions (instructions for video submission provided):
Tell us about your background and what led you to join the service. If applicable, how have you interacted with the Patriot system during your service?
What are you studying and why? What are your career aspirations?
How have you shown leadership and involvement in your community?
What would receiving this scholarship mean to you?
If you choose not to submit a video, please provide written responses to these questions.
